I really like blogging. It affords more opportunities for the exchange of ideas. During class time, and even before and after class, we are too busy to exchange information. However, in the blog we can convey our ideas to each other. It is so useful. In fact, I find it a quiet and effective way to exchange information. In one way it is like a reawakening of letter-writing, a lost art! It is also very nice to read the very thoughtful comments to my own blog. Thank you for all of your entries! Susan
Hmm, I like your idea that blogging is reawakening letter-writing! It's definitely a less formal format, but I think you have a good point. It is really nice to be able to check in on what others are thinking about the class and the activities, since I agree that it is hard to do that during class. I've been enjoying blogging and reading your posts and your comments, too, so thank you for your comments as well (and good decision about editing them for your name).
ReplyDeleteI have also enjoyed blogging as I've used it as a tool to get to know individuals in the class that I haven't had the opportunity to talk to while in class. The exchange of ideas among students in this class is intriguing to read, follow, and add to. Good luck with your capstone activity Susan! Only one more week left in the semester!
ReplyDeleteAlthough in general I don't like blogging, you're right Susan, it brings back the lost art of letter writing!!! In the context of this course, yes it allows for more exchange of ideas, but outside of the classroom, its not something I would ever do.
ReplyDeleteI liked it how you made the connection between blogging and the lost art of letter writing :-) I am not too fond of blogging, and I am not a person of many words, so my posts are quite short. I have to admit that I was surprised that the people who visited my blog liked my posts.
